This handy device allows for the planing of Oboe and English Horn Cane.
Included are the table stop, blade, thumb screw, 2 hex screws for the blade and a Garolite cane pusher with special ergonomic handle. Due to the design there are reduced sharp edges and plenty of relief in the cutting angle to allow for effortless planing. The blade and tablestop are reversable to allow for the planing of EH cane on the opposite side. Finished widths Oboe 8mm and EH is about 9.25mm. $300 |

This item is necessary in the preparation of cane to be gouged. Splits the tube cane into thirds to be guillotined and pre-gouged.

Updated All Brass Gouger Bed with Internal Cane Stops
The latest bed upgrade can be added to any Roy Oboe gouger. This upgrade incorporates cane stops machined within the bed to allow for much more clearance and the ability to move the bed or the blade with little chance of contact with the stops. The perpendicular cane stops also create a more snug fit for the cane blank and greatly minimizes and in some cases eliminates cane movement. Works especially well with the Roy PreGouger Guillotine.
This is not a difficult changeout to do on ones own though the bed will need to be realigned for the proper gouge. The current cane clips dowels and springs may be swapped from the older bed to the new OR you may send your machine to me for the installment for a $50 charge.

Straight Cane Alignment Device

Precision machined brass roller plate originally for the double radius gouger but the brass did not hold up well to the steel bearing. I have converted the use to measuring the flatness of split cane or pregouged cane before putting in the gouger.
It is important that the cane one uses is as flat as possible. By using this level piece of brass one can see the space between the cane and the level surface thereby determining if it will stand up to gouging. Helps separate the wheat from the chaff so to speak. $30 |
